Frankfort is the county seat of Clinton County and has a population of around 17,000. It has a nearly complete courthouse square with a few empty lots and new buildings.

Clinton County Courthouse
Looking southwest at the beautiful Clinton County courthouse built in 1882. It boasts of a large domed clock tower and statuary.

Looking northeast at the domed clock tower. One of the statues can be seen just below the clock.
Justice
A close look at now statue of Justice. These photos were taken on May 6, 2010.
Courthouse Square - West Side
The west side of the square with a few beautiful upper facades. Looking southwest on May 6, 2010.
H.H. Bradly Building
The beautiful upper facade of the H.H. Bradley building that sits on the north corner and can be seen in the photo above. It was near where I parked and was one of the first things that caught my eye. Unfortunately…the ground level of the building is just another “Ho hum.”
H.H. Bradly Building Detail
A closer look at some of the beautiful ornate detail. The people of days gone by had a lot of pride in their work, even in areas where it wasn't seen much. This had a good effect on the spirits of people, something missing now.
Courthouse Square - South Side
Two old ornate buildings at the east corner of the south side of the square.
South Side Buildings - Detail
A very colorful building facade. Erected in 1884 but not in the same colors I am sure!
Courthouse Square - East Side
Looking southeast at the east side of the square. The north corner to
the left is devoid of any buildings. This block has some nice upper
facades also. The one to the left has been ruined somewhat but the
lower story is more original than the others.
Building on the East Side of the Square
This is the last of the courthouse square I will show as I wasn’t able to get a good shot of the north side.
