Yellow House on West Main
A bright cheerful house, I like what they have done for this home. The Riley is to the left in this view.
James Whitcomb Riley Home
This house at 250 West Main was built in 1850 by Rueben Riley the
father of James Whitcomb Riley, a famous Indiana Poet. James was
actually born in a log cabin on the property but lived his childhood
years in this house. This view is looking to the northeast.
James Whitcomb Riley House
Looking to the northwest in this view.
James Whitcomb Rilley Home
A closeup rear view of the Riley Home looking south-southwest.
A view of the back yard and gazebo made into a park like setting.
James Whitcomb Riley Home
A view of the back and gazebo from the rear fence. The Riley Home photos were taken on March 5, 2010.
Italianate Home West of the Riley Home
I have admired this home for many years, I love the porch and all the
gingerbread. This is looking northwest, the Riley home is to the right.
Italianate House on West Main
Another home that stands out a bit from the rest and is the fourth house west of the Riley home. Looking northeast in this view.
A Towered House on Main Street
I like this old house no doubt because of the tower and angled corner
area. It sits one block west of the house shown above and this view is
looking to the northeast. Both photos were taken on March 5, 2010.
Large Italianate House on West Main
This is the last house I will show on west Main street. It sits a half
block west of the house shown above. What a nice wrap-around porch
to relax on, of course…people don’t do that anymore do they? Not like
when I was a boy many years ago. Looking southwest on March 5, 2010.
