Italianate Building on the East Side of Courthouse Square
A very nice Italianate styled commercial building mid block on the east side of the courthouse square. And yes, that is my reflection in the window. Taken on April 2, 2010.
Leonard Wild Building
One of my favorite buildings in Noblesville that was built in 1880,
located near the south end of the east side of the courthouse square.
It was here in 1964 that I shopped for items for my first car, a 1954
Chevy. That was before there were many malls as we know them today. It
was so enjoyable shopping in the old hardware stores and extra special
doing so on the courthouse square, at least when you are young and
times were slower.
Leonard Wild Building Detail
Here is a closeup of the building detail. I love buildings with the
date and notice that others do also. As you can see, I was beginning to
run out of sunlight. These photos were taken on April 2, 2010.
East Conner Street
An Interesting Old Building on East Conner
The old building mentioned above that caught my eye. I suppose the old building got my attention because of the awnings and iron work, and the open entry area and staircase. I wish now I had taken a straight on shot.
Queen Anne House on East Conner
Continuing east on Conner Street one block sits this handsome Queen Anne styled house. I love this style and they are generally elaborate and many times have turrets or towers. As you can see this one has a square tower of which I think are more scarce than round ones. This house was built in 1892 and is used as a business. This view looks toward the southwest in the morning.
I love the wrap around porch and the second story one as well which is another feature of the Queen Anne house along all of the lavish gingerbread work. Also notice the very elegant carriage house in the distance to the right. A very fancy show place in Noblesville. Looking southeast in the afternoon. Both photos of this house were taken on April 2, 2010.
Another Queen Anne House
Eastward a few more house on Conner at North 12th sits this large white Queen Anne house with a turret and two nice porches. Looking northeast in the morning.
Another View of the Queen Anne
Very nice shingle work on the front of the house. Looking north in the afternoon. Both photos of this house were taken on April 2, 2010.
Daniel Craycraft House
A few houses eastward is this beautiful home which was built in 1892 in the Queen Anne-Romanesque
style. It was moved about a block and across the street some years ago.
I have grown rather fond of straight on views and so am showing three
different views of this. Looking north.
