Old Friends Church
The Old Friends Church was built in 1881, and it is located at South Main and Log streets. This view of the church is looking to the Northwest.

Another View of the Old Church
This view really gives a sense of peace and tranquility.…at least on this late afternoon of December 1, 2009. This view of the church is looking Northwest.

Old Grain Elevator & Railroad Cars
A view of the ‘Railroad Yard’ and car collection at Carthage, which is about 32 miles east-southeast of Indianapolis. This is looking northeast at the old granery from near 1st street between North Walnut and Winter’s Way streets on the east side of town.
This photo was taken late on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. I don’t usually shoot when the sun is on both sides of a building but I will make an exception with this beautiful effect of the late afternoon December sun.

An Old Railroad Car
Couldn’t resist this old car which was sitting just north of 2nd street at the time. Train excursions are available to Carthage from Knightstown, a direct distance of about five miles. They have a “shootout” at this location in Carthage but it seems everything turns out okay in the end. A friend of mine lives next to this event and they use some of his yard to perform this evil deed. This photograph was taken on Tuesday morning, June 2, 2009.
